Black History Month Social Posts

If you haven't already seen them on my instagram, check out the Black History Month post I got to illustrate for Four Communications social platforms. They consisted of six iconic Black figures from history including Olaudah Equiano; Claudia Jones, Margaret Busby, Ira Aldridge, John Edmondson and Lilian Bader.

Here are a few:

Margaret Busby, Publisher (1944-Present)

Margaret Busby is the Uk's youngest and first Black female publisher. She founded the London-based publishing house Allison and Busby along with Clive Allison in 1967. She is an esteemed anthologist who collected writings for the celebrated Daughters of Africa.

Ira Aldridge, Actor (1807-1867)

Born in New York, Ira Aldridge emigrated to Liverpool in 1924 to pursue his dream of become an actor. Despite a lack of classical training, Aldridge became an acclaimed actor on the English stage, and was especially famed for his Shakespearean performances.
